SportsSkill, an emerging sports-tech startup, has successfully concluded its 3-month Sports Education and Talent Identification Program at SSPM Day School & Junior College, Pune, marking a significant step in its grassroots sports development strategy.
Over 350 students participated in the program, which focused on introducing school children to physical literacy, core fitness activities, and a structured pathway toward athletic progression.
A Data-Driven Sports Development Model
The SportsSkill program evaluated students on key performance indicators such as:
- Physical fitness
- Discipline and consistency
- Technical skill development
- Measurable progression over time
This approach combined real-time data tracking with expert assessments, helping young athletes and their educators understand how to improve performance scientifically and sustainably.
“This is not just a prize distribution—it signals what is possible when structured training meets school-level support,” said Abhinav Sinha, Co-founder of SportsSkill.
“We are building an inclusive platform that delivers outcomes—whether through our new centre, our app, or our school-based programs.”
Award Ceremony & Talent Recognition
The program culminated on April 13 with a special award ceremony, recognising students not only for participation but for tangible progress and discipline. Select standout performers will be given the opportunity to advance to the next level of training and support, guided by SportsSkill’s high-performance frameworks.
“Our goal is to work with schools, identify talent early, and give kids the right technique from the start,” added Chetan Desai, Co-founder of SportsSkill.
“This is where lifelong sporting journeys begin.”

What’s Next for SportsSkill?
Following fresh backing from investor KP Balaraj in Q1 2025, SportsSkill is entering a new growth phase. The company is:
- Launching a gamified sports and fitness centre in Pune later this year—an interactive real-world training hub for young athletes.
- Shifting to a B2B2C platform model by July 2025, allowing individual users to access high-performance coaching tools via the SportsSkill app.
- Expanding school collaborations and developing a structured talent pipeline for grassroots athletes.
These strategic steps underscore SportsSkill’s mission to build India’s most inclusive and tech-forward platform for early-stage athletic development.
