Bangalore-based deep-tech mobility startup iGowise Mobility (iGo) is accelerating its international expansion through strategic collaborations with EVMI Solutions (UK), Subeez (Switzerland), and Yaanco SAS (Colombia). These partnerships aim to co-develop next-generation electric trikes leveraging iGo’s proprietary LeanEV modular platform, designed to deliver globally competitive, locally adaptive mobility solutions.
This move signifies a paradigm shift for India’s automotive industry—from building products for domestic use first, to developing globally designed, locally adapted electric vehicles from day one. iGo’s export-led strategy underlines its commitment to the “Made in India, Made for the World” vision.
Global Collaborations, Local Adaptations
Each partnership is tailored to regional climatic and operational needs:
- South America: Trikes with all-terrain features and rainproof designs for steep gradients and unpredictable weather.
- Northern Europe: Vehicles optimized for battery efficiency and performance in freezing temperatures.
- Middle East: High-speed, heat-resistant LEVs for expressways and extreme temperatures reaching up to 70°C.
“We can do rigorous lab testing, but the real test is always in the customers’ hands. So, we follow a fast and lean methodology of hyper-iterative testing,” said Sravan Kumar Appana, Founder of iGo.
E-Trikes by 2026, Local Assembly in 30 Months
iGo plans to roll out fully assembled electric trikes before 2026 and establish micro-assembly shops within 24–30 months in target markets. The company's export pipeline already includes a potential $50 million deal with a Middle Eastern fleet operator, further validating its international ambitions.
Sravan added:
“This is the first time India will pioneer by exporting our technology from the start. Innovation and IP-led development will drive holistic, sustainable growth. These partnerships represent a confident and resilient iGo and Bharat.”
Addressing Challenges with Imported Trikes
Imported trikes from Japan and China come with high costs, insurance issues, and complex licensing. iGo’s twin-wheel narrow-track design reduces licensing hurdles and significantly lowers operating costs.
“We’re on a mission to electrify South America with smart, affordable lightEVs,” said Dr. Ankur Seth, Founder of Yaanco.
“iGo’s technology ensures safety, comfort, and performance in environments similar to ours. It’s the right time for Indian innovation to go global.”
Micromobility Lab & AI Integration
Beyond vehicle exports, iGo and its partners plan to establish the world’s first micromobility lab to advance AI-powered micro-EVs. This R&D initiative will support:
- Smart diagnostics
- Predictive maintenance
- Fleet optimization
- Energy efficiency innovations
This aligns with India’s broader goal to become a global EV manufacturing hub.
Impact at Home: iGo x Hala Mobility
On the domestic front, iGo has partnered with fleet aggregator Hala Mobility to deploy 2,000 high-speed e-trikes across India—reinforcing its dual-market strategy of serving both Indian and global customers with world-class EVs at competitive prices.
